Sir Ivo Charles Clayton Rigby (2 June 1911 – 19 April 1987) was a BritIsh lawyer and judge. He served as a government lawyer and judge of a number of British colonies and protectorates in the mid 20th Century. His last position before retirement was as Chief Justice of Hong Kong. ==Early life== Rigby was born on 2 June 1911 in Yarmouth, Norfolk.〔This and other biographical information, unless otherwise stated, from Rigby's Who's Who in Hong Kong 1970–73 entry.〕 He was the only son of James Philip Clayton Rigby.〔The Singapore Free Press and Mercantile Advertiser (1884–1942), 28 January 1937, Page 9〕 He was educated at Magdalen College School, Oxford. He read for the bar at the Inner Temple and was called in 1932. He practised on the South Eastern Circuit, London and Norwich until 1935. He married Agnes Bothway of Norwich on the Island of Madeira in 1937.
